Fi and Ash launched Urban Dust Hat Bar & Boutique in 2023, inspired by the hat bars they encountered whilst travelling through Texas. With Ash being a fifth-generation Maldon local and Fiona bringing her expertise from a city fashion buying background, the partnership was a natural fit.

One night, Fi came up with the idea of taking their hat store on the road, sparking a whirlwind of excitement.

That very night, she purchased a horse float and reached out to a local rodeo promotions company.

By the beginning of 2024, they were ready for their first event. 

Since then, they've traded the horse float for a stylish barn-style trailer, allowing them to showcase their high-end, impeccably crafted hats across Australia.

Their adventures take them to the races, music festivals, musters, agricultural shows, weddings, birthdays and—Ash’s personal favorite—rodeos. 

With Ash’s lifelong love for horses and newfound passion for steaming and cleaning hats, coupled with Fiona’s fashion expertise and business savvy, they make a formidable team. Urban Dust is the ultimate destination for finding your perfect hat!
